The latest trends in the fashion business were presented to an enthusiastic audience by international designers in the silk and velvet city during the 18th "Größten Straßenmodenschau der Welt" from the 18th to the 20th of September, 2009. Krefeld's Ctiy Center was converted into a unique fashion- and action mile with numerous fashion shows, all open air.
The highlight for the fashion show was created by contour, ordered by the Deutschen Mode Institutes DMI (German Fashion Institute), on the Dionysiusplatz. The 22m skyliner with a specially constructed transparent side lining allowed for a weather-protected realization of the event. Furthermore the mobile event location was equipped with a heating system, invisibly integrated into the catwalk, thus creating a cozy athmosphere for audience and models even during the chilly temperatures during the evening.
Adding to the use of their in house-developed exclusive roofing system, the contour crew focussed on an the almost invisible sound system with finest speech intelligibility, a comfortable volume level during music parts and an unobstrusive appearance.
The noticeably wide and long catwalk, traversing the skyliner, was connected to a large rear stage with rises on both sides.
The utilized lighting gear created a ceremonial athmosphere on the location, especially during the gala show on the evening on occasion of the awarding of the "Goldene Seidenschleife 2009". Thus a bright, professional and even illumination for press and photographers was installed.
