On July 3rd, 2009, one of the first big headphone parties on european ground took place and attracted about 1,500 people to the Polyterasse, the viewing balcony at the University's main building high over the roofs of Zurich.
All party guests were given headphones, to which the music was transmitted by radio, with the possibility of individual volume control. Trouble or complaints due to noise disturbance thus were excluded.
The extraordinary silent party was organized by a team of students under patronage of the VSETH (Association of students at the "Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule") and the ETH-Alumni on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the ETH-Alumni.
contour, in cooperation with their swiss partner even'trend, provided a 30m magic polygon, which created a roofing for the party people and the DJ's and topped off the unique ambience with it's most beautiful view over the lights of Zurich. Under the roof's center sparkled an oversized headphone instead of a conventional mirrorball.
As a technical full service provider, contour provided the giant open air party with findest DJ equipment and state-of-the-art lighting gear.
