To be able to do so, it was necessary to get a very accurate view at the actual working loads at and in the system. To achieve this, contour spared no costs nor effords and decided for a wind tunnel trial in this case.

Together with structural design office "vom Felde" and the Ruscheweyh Consult GmbH from Aachen, we carried out a wind tunnel trial in early 2007 to explore the wind pressure distribution on the roof system.

A scale model of the 30m roof was prepared to simulate the aerodynamic characteristics, as well as distortions of the current, in the environmental wind tunnel at Ruscheweyh Consult GmbH.
